Course Description

This qualification applies to individuals working in a work health and safety (WHS) role who provide a broad range of technical knowledge and skills, and have some limited responsibility for the output of others.

The qualification applies to those working as supervisors, WHS personnel, and workers in other WHS-related roles who manage risks effectively, apply relevant WHS laws, and contribute to WHS within the workplace in known or changing contexts with established parameters.

Although not mandatory, ideally candidates have Cert II or III level related Units of Competency in teams, supervision or minerals industry.

To obtain this qualification, candidates must successfully complete the required assessment tasks.

Corporate with Face to Face Sessions

This is our preferred and most sought after format.  A typical program will involve a minimum of 6 days face-to-face training over 4-5 months (e.g.) 2 days a month for 3 months. The program can be tailored for the level experience of the candidates and the site requirements.  The program includes:

• Class discussions and sharing learnings
• Class activities, videos and team exercises
• Workplace inspection
• Time to work on assessments and ask the trainer for assistance and further information directly
• Use of your company’s forms and procedures wherever possible (e.g. workplace inspection, JHA, Risk Assessment, pre-start etc.

This allows plenty of learning opportunities with our very experienced trainer but also time to practice and apply the skills back in the workplace between classes.  The final day is for the candidates to present their improvement projects that have been selected by the candidates and endorsed by the company on real aspects at their workplace that can be improved (e.g. safety innovation, new procedure etc.)
